English Department Updates for Students

Aerial Shot of Campus

Dear KU English students,

Welcome back to KU!  KU English faculty have been hard at work preparing courses that meet the challenges of the environment that the COVID-19 pandemic has created. We have created a range of course options to meet student need and interest, including providing for a range of course modalities. Regardless of the course modality, English courses will continue to be taught by a department full of award-winning teachers and scholars. And we hope to work with you to help you meet the unusual challenges that this fall will inevitably bring.

In order to protect your health and safety and that of our faculty and staff, we continue to follow the University’s recommendations to keep face-to-face contact in Wescoe to a minimum. Please see Protect KU for more details about how the University plans to protect your safety, and please help us by doing your part to comply with these policies. While this means that the English office suite will not be open for walk-in traffic, we are all still available through Zoom and email, and encourage you to reach out to our advisors, administrators, and instructors with any questions you might have.

To keep up to date with what’s going on in English, including virtual events, I encourage you to follow our social media accounts: Facebook (especially good for events) @KUEnglishDepartment, Twitter, @KUEnglish, and Instagram, @KUEnglishDepartment

Yours,

Katie Conrad
