Biography

A.D. Boynton II, PhD [he/they] is a writer and teacher from Columbus, GA. He is the Managing Editor for the Journal of Science Fiction, author-curator of the digital project 4:44 Syllabus, and has writing published in the College Language Association JournalSouth Atlantic Journal, and on several online public platforms. Boynton is also a poet and creative practitioner; they published a chapbook entitled Witness in 2023 with the Spencer Museum of Art, has directed numerous choirs and plays as an artist-teacher, and is a part of the local community arts guild B.L.A.C.K. Lawrence. At KU, Boynton has taught courses in composition, American literature, science fiction, and African American culture and workshops on poetry, gender and racial equity, and pedagogy.
