Biography —
Marcus Höehne attended the FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg for his undergraduate coursework for English and German for teaching Gymnasium. He completed his M.A. in German through the University of Kansas in Spring 2015. In Fall 2015, he began his doctoral studies with the English Department at KU focusing on early modern English literature. His research interests include ‘Shakespeare and Religion’, ‘Shakespeare and Music’, German-English cultural and political intersections in early modern English literature, and receptions and adaptions of Shakespeare in Germany. His essay “Hamlet in Elsinore, Hamlet in Wittenberg: Traces of the Protestant Reformation in Shakespeare’s Tragedy” was published in the essay collection Critical Insights: Hamlet, ed. by Robert C. Evans, under Grey House Publishing in January 2019.
